“Christmas waves a magic wand over the world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful! This is the one day of the year to remind us we have so much to be thankful for.” December is a very beautiful and busy month for all of us. So what is the spirit of Christmas? The answer can be said in one word “Giving.” Here in the “West Indies” that means serving and giving with extra love and care. We know this is what makes the residents feel the spirit of Christmas!

Christmas time brings up many memories. I wanted to hear from our residents. Here is what a few shared. Mel Incerto remembers a Christmas Tree with pretty lights. Vivian Senac recalls getting together with family and friends. Francis Miller loves being with lots of family and people she hasn’t seen in a long time. Ray Rapeepat recalls being a foreigner and having to learn how to cook a turkey! Shirley Margiot reminisces on the smell of a fresh Christmas tree and Elaine West a staff member, said that when she was a child, she remembers seeing a special doll in a store window that looked like her with long braids. And guess what? Santa brought it to her for Christmas!

From all our Staff and residents here in the West Indies may you and your family’s Holidays be filled with joy, peace, and blessings. Have a wonderful, safe and happy New Year!!

Sunshine and smiles... Rey, Joe, Leslie and the West Indies Staff
